Brother:

There's nothing wrong with having a dream, but was it a dream or a vision? He says both, anything can and many times does happen in a dream, but a vision is something completly different. How many people will deny that there is order in the bible for a "mess us up" theology?
Jesus went against the "norm" of his day to the glory of His Father. How does Mr.Sheets vision and the "mess us up" song glorify God? By non-conformity..Sure if it means following the relevent, emergent church of today, but how biblical is his vision/dream?

I agree Robert. This guy doen't seem to know what he is talking about.

Heresy by definitioin is doctrin that is at variance with the absolute truth of the bible.

Based on what I saw and heard, there was nothing biblical about jumping around telling God to "mess us up" and then blaspheming His name by insinuating that the all mighty God came to this man and told him to "take a break" while peopel are dying and going to hell Jesus said that the laborours in the field are few as it is.

And then to "play with his kids in the ocean" and "present him with a birthday cake" and say "lets party".

First of all, I doubt very highly that this man was met by any spirtual being in a vision just because I know man, and that sounds like a lie.

And Second, I may be wrong about him being met in a vision by a spiritual being, but I am certain it was not Jesus Christ.

This man ought to be very concerned about his inability to recognize the true Christ. Because if he does not know Him, then it may very well be that He does not know him either.

jack,

you talk in your comment about a God that would not allow His children, the ones He loves, to "take a break." why, then, does He "make me lie down in green pastures" and "lead me beside quiet waters" and "restore my soul?" (psalm 23). this sounds like a God that wants His children to "take a break" every now and then.

God WANTS us to rest. He WANTS to hang out with us, to party with us. thinking the contrary is thinking of a different god than the God of the Bible.

sounds like that was Jesus to me.

also, as far as the "mess us up" song goes... sure, there were people that were in it for the wrong reasons - the feelings, the music, the moment. but for those that had their heads on, they would have been realizing that God is constantly refining us, which requires us getting "messed up" every now and then. we have our own ways of thinking, of speaking, of acting, and the only way to get those corrected is to bring in new ways of thinking. to get "messed up." i pray God continues to "mess me up" that i may be drawn closer to Him.
